Passive Voice Hai Objects

Trong ngữ pháp tiếng Anh, chúng ta có thể bị động hai objects một lúc (passive voice with ditransitive verbs). Loại bị động này khác với loại bị động thông thường. Vì chúng ta cần có một số lưu ý riêng. Tuy nhiên, sự khác biệt này cũng không quá lớn.

Passive Voice với Hai Objects

Như đã nói lúc nãy, loại bị động với hai objects này chỉ xảy ra với Factitive Verbs mà thôi. Và chúng ta sẽ có một số lưu ý về nó nữa. Nào cũng bắt đầu nhé.

Ditransitive Verbs

Ditransitive Verbs tạm hiểu là những động từ sẽ đi với hai objects. Object thứ hai là thứ nhận hành động (từ verb trong câu). Và object thứ nhất là người / vật nhận object thứ hai. Ví dụ:

I give him a flower.

Thì “a flower” (object thứ 2) là thứ nhận hành động “give”. Còn “him” (object thứ nhất) là người nhận flower.

General Formula

Active Voice:

Subject Verb A B
He gives me a flower.
Subject Verb B to A

He gives a flower to me.

chuyển sang:

Passive Voice 1:

A be Past participle of Verb B

I am given a flower.

 hoặc

Passive Voice 2:

Be Past participle of Verb to A

A flower is given to me.

 Vì có hai Objects nên dễ hiểu là chúng ta sẽ có hai cách bị động đúng không nào. Hoặc các bạn cũng có thể hiểu là vì câu “he gives me a flower” cũng đồng nghĩa với “he gives a flower to me.” Thành ra khi bị động chúng ta có thể bị động hai cách như thế này.

Example

1. He sends me some money.
   Plan 1: I am sent some money
   Plan 2: Some money is sent to me. 
2. He lent me a pencil.
   Plan 1: He was lent a pencil.
   Plan 2: A pencil was lent to him.
3. Studying abroad promises students a real employment prospect.
   Plan 1: Students are promised a real employment prospect.
   Plan 2: A real employment prospect is promised to students.

Passive to Active

Put these passive voice sentences into active voice sentences

Thay đổi những câu bị động sau thành dạng chủ động:

1. He was sent a flower
2. They will be given a birthday gift.
3. I am bought a new computer.
4. Studying abroad students are promised an amount of knowledge.
5. Our environment will be paid our life.
6. The environment is shown a lack of awareness.
7. Everything is given to us.
8. Knowledge has been given to learners.
9. A great deal of information has been given to us.

Active to Passive

Put these active voice sentences into passive voice:

1. People on this planet have left our environment destruction.
2. Patience promises everyone a chance of success.
3. Our previous generation has handed us a planet without resources and dignity.
4. Love brings people hope.
5. Enthusiasm gives people passion and success.
6. Failure shows us a way not to succeed.
7. Money hardly buys us happiness.
8. Independence offers people a chance to be themselves.
9. Success can get people’s confidence.
