FORMATION

Subject + WILL BE + Present Participle (V-ing)

I will be doing this exercise tomorrow at 9.00.

He will be going to school at 9:00 tomorrow.
She will be going to school at 9:00 tomorrow.
It will be going to my home at 9:00 tomorrow.

They will be watching this movie again at this time tomorrow.
We will be watching this movie again at this time tomorrow.

USES

1. An action in progress at a point of time or when another action happens in the future:
   – Một hành động đang diễn ra tại một thời điểm trong tương lai
   • We’ll be waiting for you at 8 o’clock tomorrow.
   • We’ll be waiting for you when you wake up.
2. For future events that are planned or decided upon (an alternative to present continuous):
   – Một kế hoạch/dự định có tính toán.
   • They will be staying with us again this year.
   • I will be taking this test again tomorrow.
3. We can use “will you be + v-ing + object” to ask hinderingly one’s intention:
   – Dùng “Will you be + V-ing” để nhờ ai đó một cách ngụ ý
   _Will you be going out this evening?
   _Yes, why?
   _Can you get me a tube of toothpaste?

1. Tom: I (go) to York tomorrow. (I have arranged to go.)
   Ann: You (come) back the same day? (Have you arranged to come back?)
   Tom: No. I probably (have) to spend the night there.
2. Peter: You (walk) home? (Have you decided to walk?)
   Andrew: Yes. It’s too late for a bus.
   Peter: But it’s pouring. You (get) soaked! Here, take this umbrella.
   Andrew: Thanks very much. I (bring) it back tomorrow.
3. Jack: I (have) another window put in. (I have arranged this.) They (start) work on it tomorrow.
   Ann: That (make) the room much brighter.
4. You (take) any exams this term? (Have you decided to take an exam?)
   Yes, I (take) an English exam at the end of the month.
   Do you think you (pass)?
   I don’t know.
   If I don’t, I (take) it again at the end of next term.
5. Where you (meet) Tom? (Where have you arranged to meet him?)
   We (meet) at Covent Garden. He (take) me to see The Magic Flute.
6. What you (do) next weekend? (What plans have you made?)
   It depends on the weather. If it’s fine, we (go) somewhere in the car; if it’s wet, we probably (stay) at home.
7. When Jack (arrive)? (When did he say he ‘d arrive?)
   Some time this evening.
   And how he (get) here? (How has he arranged to travel?)
   I don’t know yet. I suppose he (come) by car.
8. What they (do) for their holidays? (Have they decided to do?)
   ~ They (go) camping.
